Where Learning Meets Purpose

When People Academy approached us, they had a powerful vision: to elevate HR professionals across Latin America through accessible, impactful learning. As a Product Designer, I saw an opportunity to create not just a platform, but a digital experience that would empower users to grow, lead, and drive meaningful change in their organizations.

From strategy to launch, I led the user experience and design efforts, focusing on empathy, clarity, and motivation.

The Challenge

Learning Wasn’t Working

HR professionals juggle a lot, from people strategy to compliance, but their learning options were scattered, outdated, and impersonal. People Academy needed a centralized, scalable system that could serve both beginners and seasoned professionals.

The challenge wasn’t just technical, it was about creating an experience that respected users’ time, honored their journey, and offered real value at every touchpoint.

The Journey

From Discovery to Definition

I started by mapping out key user personas, what they needed, where they struggled, and how they interacted with digital learning. Through stakeholder interviews and research, I defined core experience goals: Make certification paths clear and flexible.

Reduce friction in finding, purchasing, and starting courses. Build a system that could grow with the platform. From there, I translated user and business needs into wireframes, flowcharts, and prototypes that served as the foundation for development.

Design with Empathy

UX that Builds Confidence

My design direction focused on trust, clarity, and action. I created: A modular certification flow allowing users to choose between individual courses or full packages. Visual hierarchies that guide users intuitively from discovery to checkout.

A design system that balanced playfulness and professionalism, with interactive cards, clear CTAs, and scalable components.Mobile-first layouts to ensure accessibility across devices. I collaborated with the dev team to implement the design in WordPress, integrating LearnDash for structured course delivery and e-commerce tools for seamless purchasing.

Storytelling

Research-driven & polished

Every detail was guided by research and purpose. From benchmarking leading platforms to understanding user motivations, each microcopy, transition, and hover state was crafted intentionally. I designed for emotion and momentum, making the learning journey feel personal, achievable, and rewarding. From a warm welcome message to clear progress indicators, every interaction aimed to help users feel seen, supported, and confident.

The impact

The platform brought course discovery, enrollment, payments, certification tracking, and learning progress into one connected experience for HR professionals. As Product Designer, I translated user and business needs into end-to-end flows, wireframes, prototypes, and a scalable interface system.

Integrating e-commerce and LMS capabilities connected enrollment, payments, learning progress, and certification in a single journey, reducing the number of disconnected steps for both learners and administrators. The modular course structure also gave the team a flexible foundation for launching and managing new learning programs as the platform evolved.

The next step is to measure enrollment completion, return visits, certification completion, and administrative processing time to understand how effectively the platform supports both learners and the internal team.
